AVARUA WALKING TOUR
A leisurely walk through downtown

Put on your walking shoes & join us on this informative walking tour. The Avarua Historical Walking tour is a 1½  hour leisurely paced guided walk through the historical parts of Avarua, down town.

 

The tour is conducted by our knowledgeable guide who will trace the Cook Islands history from Polynesian settlement of Rarotonga to the discovery and colonization by New Zealand  administration, the missionaries and through to independence.

The tour concludes at a nearby location with fruits and juice refreshments.

The tour operates on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9am and it's 2.5 hrs long

  • This tour is not suitable for people with back problems.

  • What to bring: Comfortable shoes, a water bottle, a hat and reef friendly sunscreen
